Film Equipment Dubai Customs ATA Carnet
An often asked question. "We would bring our own equipment (3 – 4 cameras, basic doc sound kit etc) what is the customs situation in Dubai?
Your local partner will need the full kit list including number of trollies anyway. For permits and NOCs.
Option 1 You do a carnet in your home country, accepted country list.
Option 2 You do your own extensive kit list, and at the airport you pay a 5% cash import deposit. When you leave you get your deposit back.

(Hint, if you do this make sure the same person flys with the kit and enters/exits from the same terminal)
Option 3 Your local partner gets you a quote on local hire of equipment in Dubai.

In all cases. Do check the duration (usually 3 months) validity of your carnet and the visa of the person flying with the kit.
